A former Conservative Government Minister and current non-executive director of leading UK health insurer WPA paid a flying visit to Eastbourne this week (Wednesday August 8) to talk to customers about their experiences with the company.

Lord Mayhew, more familiar as Sir Patrick Mayhew, the longest-serving Northern Ireland Secretary in John Major’s government, visited several Eastbourne businesses.

At Cobb PR, he met up with East Sussex County Council Chairman Bob Lacey and Tim Cobb.

Tim said: “Lord Mayhew spent about 30 minutes with us to get some feedback on WPA. We’ve had a very good relationship with the health insurance company covering some eight years now. Their office in Cavendish Place, Eastbourne, makes them very accessible.

Lord Mayhew was taken on a tour of Eastbourne clients by local WPA representative Marcus Cronin. Marcus said: “It was great to see one of our board directors in Eastbourne, and I’m delighted we were able to pop in and see a handful of the local companies we look after.
